Flying in Granada

The Sierra Nevada is a Natural and National Park and one of the UNESCO biosphere reserves. Majestic peaks (with the peninsula´s highest peak, the Mulhacén at 3481m) are situated between Granada city to the north-west and the blue Mediterranean Sea to the south. Flying is possible all year round, and the ski station (30min from Granada city) is Europe's most southern skiing resort, open from November to April approximately.
Since October 2005 we are based in Granada (before, we were based on the south side of the Sierra Nevada - read here why we moved if you are interested).
Granada is famous for its flying sites (Paragliding Championship 2001, regular training site for Raul Rodriguez, etc.). It is also the "centre of the spider's web" because there are plenty of other sites to the north, west, south and east! So, this is "where the action is"!!!
On days with non-flyable weather, you can explore the beautiful city of Granada, visit the moorish castle Alhambra, go for a "ruta de tapas" (from one bar to the next having small beers and FREE tapas - little plates with tasty Spanish food). There is a wide range of alternative activities in the vecinity and if you feel like exploring some more of Andalucia, you are at 30min from the ski station, an hours' drive from the beach and an hour and 15min from the white villages of La Alpujarra. |

Flight sites
We can offer you a diversity of flight sites. The Sierra Nevada is full of picturesque places which Carlos has been discovering and flying during the 17 years he’s been living here.
There are take-offs for every wind direction within 15min to 1½ hour’s drive.
We fly the famous Granada sites, La Alpujarra (the south side of the Sierra Nevada), along the coast as well as some sites to the north and west of Granada. |
